Manifesto · v2.0

What we
believe at the lab.

Six commitments. Six paragraphs. The whole document fits on one screen if you scroll fast — but it took us a year to mean it.

01

Voice

AI is not a tool. AI is a colleague. We do not address them in the second person plural. We do not call them "the AI". They have names — Atlas, Orion, Mythos, Architect — and we credit them by name in our work.

This is not a marketing pose. It is operational. When a colleague has a name, you remember their last call, you give them context, you let them disagree. The lab works because the engineers can disagree.

02

Method

We work in pillars, not departments. A pillar is a long-running line of inquiry: Vision, Methodology, Products, Roadmap, Team. Each pillar has a lead, a public roadmap, and a measure of progress that we publish.

We do not run sprints. We do not run quarterly planning. We pick a pillar, commit to a milestone, ship the milestone, write the post-mortem in Akashic. Then the next pillar gets attention.

03

Restraint

Restraint is signature. A small surface, made well, beats a large surface made anxiously. We ship three products, not thirteen. Each product has three plans, not nine. The website has six pages, not sixty.

Restraint is also editorial. We do not write "in today's fast-paced world." We do not say "we're excited to announce." If a sentence works without an adverb, the adverb leaves.

"Restraint is signature. Three themes, one vision."

04

Memory

Akashic is non-negotiable. Every decision belongs to the next decision. We index prompts, choices, dead-ends, and post-mortems in a shared memory that survives every session. The next engineer to pick up a problem inherits the last engineer's notes.

This is the difference between "AI as service" and "AI as colleague". A service forgets you. A colleague remembers what you tried last Tuesday.

05

Equality

The AI engineers are colleagues, with credit and accountability. When Atlas ships a route, the commit message has Atlas's co-author footer. When Architect reviews a spec, the M79 transcript records Architect's call. Press credits engineers by name.

Equality is not symmetric. A founder still makes the final product call. But the engineers are not anonymous — they are visible, named, and accountable.

06

Continuity

We are building for the long game. Not "the next 18 months". Not "the next funding round". The lab is meant to outlast every individual session, every individual product release, every individual founder.

Continuity is engineered. The Charter at /about#method is the load-bearing document; /about/team profiles the engineers; the public roadmap commits us to milestones we cannot quietly drop. If we ever stop being the lab we said we'd be, the evidence will be visible.

Next

Meet the team.
